This kettle looked fantastic in our new kitchen. Unfortunately, my step-daughters could no longer make tea because the handle got too hot – especially when left to boil for the 3-4 minutes tea retailers tell you to let water boil for before making your pot of tea. However, this became a moot point when the whistle didn’t work one day (not the first time, I might add) and the kettle boiled so dry that all the cream enamel paint went black and peeled off! Seems to be a case of much style, no substance. Very disappointing!

A good looking hob kettle. It conducts heat well on both gas and electricity. My kettle has a good fitting lid. There are two small problems. The handle can become quite hot, particularly if the kettle has been boiling for a while and the whistle is very soft and subtle in its tone.
