expensive however gets the jobs done,
a very good purchase, easy to clean, heat is dispersed easily and i have had no problems(touch wood)so far.

|Good initially, disappointing mid term results!,
I have never used a pressure cooker before. Having purchased this based on research on internet, I found the product very easy to use. The pan is heavy and solid, everything cooks in half hour, and the results delicious. I have yet to see the long term results, so we will see.
…..4 months later:
Sadly, It broke. The plastic bit on the valve housing and the valve caps came off after I removed the lid, as instructed. I found three little plastic bits broken inside.
So much for Swiss made quality!

|Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker,
This is the fourth Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker I’ve bought,(1 for each of my 3 sons and their wives, after having bought one for myself). I love this cooker as it doesn’t require weights, as did my previous makes of cooker; I was always nervous that the others were about to explode when they came up to pressure, or would force the weight off the top and discharge the contents on the ceiling.The seal on the lid has lasted several years. I had to buy several replacements for my other cookers over the years. When I thought the seal had perished on the Kuhn Rikon because the cooker failed to’come up to pressure’,I rang the company for a another and was assured that it wouldn’t be that and that I needed to turn round something on the lid to remedy the problem. So far I’ve only had to replace one part, which arrived by return of post! I think the company is excellent, not wanting me to spend money unnecessarily, and very helpful.
The cooker saves so much time and fuel. Potatoes cook in 4 minutes, soup,according to the type,8-10 minutes, ham takes 10 minutes for 500grams.
I know it’s expensive, compared to some other makes but I think you get what you pay for and I’d thoroughly recommend it!
